This is rich, ripe and succulent, with blackberry and black currant flavors. As decadently fruity as it tastes, the finish is firm and dry. There’s lots of balanced elegance in this drink-me-now Cabernet.

Has aromas of apricot and vanilla, flavors of tropical fruit and a slight spiciness, layered with toasty oak notes. The Toasted Head name comes from the process of charring the barrel heads for carmelized oak tones.
Deep garnet color. A luscious cascade of dark fruit, including black currant, black cherry, plum, and blackberry complemented by sweet vanilla and baking spices. Flavor is rich, round, and full-bodied; layered with blackberry, cherry, dried plums, and a hint of cocoa; generous weight on the palate and smooth, mouth-filling tannins; the finish lingers with flavors of rich cassis and black cherry.
This is a beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon. It epitomizes the Napa quality of power married to finesse. Winemaker Ted Edwards deserves kudos for producing a high-production Cabernet (34,000 cases) this good, from a difficult vintage. It’s dry and balanced, with rich, complex blackberry, sage and sweet oak flavors. Drink now-2017.
