Acclaimed winemaker Jean-Paul Brun favors us once more with this delicious Chardonnay from Beaujolais. Creamy and flavorful, it perfectly balances lively tropical and citrus fruit notes with smooth vanilla, leading to a long, elegant finish.
The 2010 from Franзois Chidaine is a stunning young wine, soaring from the glass in a blaze of pear, tangerine, a fine signature of chalky soil tones, beeswax, spring flowers and a nice touch of orange oil. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure and soil-driven, with lovely complexity, a very suave attack, great mid-palate intensity and a very long, focused and youthfully refined finish.
Violet in color. The Syrah offers a lot of aromas on the nose including black fruit. The mouth is prevalent with spices of licorice and black olive with minerality, especially graphite and soot. Drink in 3-4 years as this mouthfeel will continue to develop over time bringing more complexity and power. Pairs well with hearty meats, such as game.
Sourced from the Waihopai Valley subregion, this is a round, soft Pinot Noir. It emphasizes fruit, but the black cherry notes are undeniably attractive and nicely balanced, framed by silky tannins. Easy to like and easy to drink.
