Trapiche Broquel Malbec
The 2009 Broquel Malbec spent 15 months in new French and American oak, truly unheard of for a $15 wine. It displays an enticing perfume of toasty oak (which is well-integrated on the palate), spice box, floral notes, earthy minerals, and assorted red and black fruits. Rich and spicy on the palate, it reveals enough structure to evolve for another 2-3 years. It will deliver prime drinking from 2012 to 2019. I suspect that not many readers are going to cellar a $15 wine, but for those who do, you will be rewarded. 90 Points Wine Advocate
