In this particular section (101) we delve into 10 traditionally produced wines from 10 classic regions. Regions include:\u00a0<strong>Nemea, Greece. Loire Valley, France. Burgundy, France. Bordeaux, France. Rhone, France. Mosel, Germany. Tuscany, Italy. Rioja, Spain. Sonoma County, California. Finger Lakes, New York.<\/strong>\u00a0Coursework will include a variety of readings about the wines and their given regions. Also opening and consuming of the wines so that the contents can be studied, as well as understood in order to provide the key concepts of these\u00a0traditional wine regions.<\/p>\n<p>Previous Lessons: <a title=\"Lesson One\" href=\"http:\/\/www.marketviewliquor.com\/blog\/2014\/09\/wine-101\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lesson One<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><strong>Lesson Two<\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The second wine in this course is a Sauvignon Blanc by producer Karine Lauverjat from the region of Sancerre which is part of the Loire Valley in France. According to\u00a0<strong>l<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">oirevalleywine.com<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0&#8220;<em>Grapes have been grown here for at least 2,000 years. This is the original home of Sauvignon Blanc and of Sancerre the world\u2019s most prestigious Sauvignon Blanc wine that sets international standards for the grape.<\/em>&#8221; \u00a0The Lauverjat family have been growing grapes for several generations in the tiny village of Sury-en-Vaux. This particular Sauvignon Blanc expresses clear aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits that linger on the palate. This is a classic, medium weight Sancerre that strikes a perfect balance of citrus and melon. Drink at 50\u00b0F as a aperitif, with oysters, salmon or poultry dishes. On a personal note I was a guest at the home of Christian and Karine Lauverjat. I was privileged to eat a home cooked meal by the couple and stay in their home.
