In this particular section (101) we delve into 10 traditionally produced wines from 10 classic regions. Regions include:\u00a0<strong>Nemea, Greece. Loire Valley, France. Burgundy, France. Bordeaux, France. Rhone, France. Mosel, Germany. Tuscany, Italy. Rioja, Spain. Sonoma County, California. Finger Lakes, New York.<\/strong>\u00a0Coursework will include a variety of readings about the wines and their given regions. Also opening and consuming of the wines so that the contents can be studied, as well as understood in order to provide the key concepts of these\u00a0traditional wine regions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #4a4a4a;\">Previous Lessons: <a title=\"Lesson One\" href=\"http:\/\/www.marketviewliquor.com\/blog\/2014\/09\/wine-101\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lesson One<\/a>, <a title=\"Lesson Two\" href=\"http:\/\/www.marketviewliquor.com\/blog\/2014\/09\/wine-101-getting-to-know-10-classic-wines-lesson-two\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lesson Two<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #4a4a4a;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Lesson Three<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #4a4a4a;\"><span style=\"color: #4a4a4a;\">The course&#8217;s third wine is Saint Cosme Cotes du Rhone, coming from the winery Chateau de Saint Cosme. The winery is in the heart of the Gigondas Appellation. A property that has been family owned since 1490 and winegrowers that go back 14 generations. &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"color: #343434;\"><em>The Barruol&#8217;s ancestors acquired it in 1570, and at the end of the sixteenth century built a splendid residence over existing cellars.<\/em>&#8221; <\/span><em><span style=\"color: #343434;\">(<\/span><\/em><strong><span style=\"color: #343434;\">http:\/\/www.saintcosme.com\/en\/<\/span><\/strong><em><span style=\"color: #343434;\">) <\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #343434;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #343434;\">A rare\u00a0fact about the winery is that it is located at the crossing of two geological faults, which makes the soil unique. Another interesting fact is the connection to the Finger Lakes. The owner of\u00a0Chateau de Saint Cosme, Louis Barroul, is partners in the Forge Cellars project. Their first vintage in 2011 was 300 cases of Riesling and Pinot Noir.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #4a4a4a;\">This Cote du Rhone is 100% Syrah grape. 2013 was a great year for Syrah in the region and this translated into a wine full of fruit, fresh aromas and nice tight texture.\u00a0Notes of licorice, violet, red-berry and black currant on the palate.
