Description
The 2017 Ramnasgras Cinsault comes from vines planted in 1964, the most productive vineyard yet still producing just 3,500 bottles. It includes some 60% whole-bunch fruit and was matured in 4,000-liter foudres. The winsome bouquet features red currant, cranberry and wild rose petal scents, very well defined and pure - oddly enough, almost Burgundy-like in style. The palate is well balanced with fresh red cherry and cranberry fruit and hints of pomegranate, quite mineral-driven and again, very Burgundy-like on the poised finish. This is very promising.
