Description
The 2017 Cinq Cepages Proprietary Red Wine is a blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot, aged for 20 months in French oak, 68% new. Deep garnet-purple in color, the nose displays evocative notes of Black Forest cake, black raspberries, boysenberries and stewed plums with touches of underbrush, smoked meats and tobacco leaf. Full-bodied, the palate is slightly chewy and a little rustic, nonetheless giving up a good amount of baked black fruits and spicy accents, finishing a tad hard. 89+ Points Wine Advocate
