Mount Veeder Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon / 750 ml

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder is fabulous. Inky, rich and explosive, the 2023 dazzles from start to finish. Inky red fruit, iron, chalk, graphite, chalk, mint and white pepper race out of the glass. This is Mount Veeder at its most opulent. Winemaker Andy Erickson crafted a Cabernet Sauvignon that stands out with its distinctive personality. That said, I have to say I am a bit surprised by the style here. After his experience at Mayacamas, I expected to see Andy Erickson pursue a more nuanced, refined style. In fairness, though, that is tough to judge fully from just two vintages. 96 Points Vinous
