Description
I love the nose of the 2019 Altair, produced with a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, 7% Syrah and 2% Carmenere, with less Cabernet and a more peppery and spicy profile. It has ripeness and 14.6% alcohol but with no excess and is nicely balanced but with some grippy tannins, perhaps the effect of the warmer year. As in other vintages, it combines power with elegance and is less influenced by the oak than in the past..
