Description
Traditionally in France, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier are grown in different regions and therefore rarely used together in the same wine. St Cosme's Louis Barruol believes that the two grapes from opposite corners of France actually work very well together and has planted a small plot of Sauvignon Blanc in his Rhone Valley estate. Sauvignon Blanc brings acidity to the blend while Viognier provides fleshiness and texture. Blending the two varieties results in an aromatic and fresh-tasting wine with aromas and flavors of lemon, grapefruit, boxwood, elderflower and mango.
